FinancesHub
Last updated: August 31, 2026
Terms of Use
The short version. FinancesHub is a tool for keeping track of shared expenses, income and work hours. It records what you and your group members type into it and does arithmetic on those numbers.
- It is not financial, tax, accounting, investment or legal advice.
- It does not move money. A balance or a "transfer" in the app is a note you made, not a payment.
- Receipt scanning and spending insights are automated and can be wrong. Check them.
- You are responsible for what you enter, including anything you enter about other people.
- Premium is billed by Apple or Google, renews automatically, and is cancelled in their settings.
This summary is for orientation only. The numbered sections below are the actual agreement.
1. Who we are, and what these Terms cover
These Terms of Use (the "Terms") are a binding agreement between you and FinancesHub ("we", "our", or "us") governing your use of the FinancesHub mobile application for iOS and Android, the web application at financeshub.app, and any related features and services (together, the "Service").
Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect and why. It forms part of these Terms.
You can reach us at any time at support@financeshub.app.
2. Acceptance and eligibility
By creating an account, or by downloading, installing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
- You must be at least 13 years old, or 16 if you are in the European Economic Area, to use the Service.
- If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, and only they may make purchases.
- If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind that organisation to these Terms.
3. What FinancesHub is — and what it is not
FinancesHub lets you create groups, record expenses and income, split costs between members, log work hours and client visits, record payments and settlements, attach receipts, and produce summaries and reports from the entries you and your group members make.
The Service does not provide financial advice. Nothing in the app — including any figure, balance, chart, report, summary, suggestion or AI-generated insight — is financial, investment, tax, accounting or legal advice, and none of it is a recommendation to take or refrain from any action. It is a record of what was entered, and arithmetic performed on that record. Before you rely on any number in the app for a decision that matters, check it, and where the decision is significant, consult a qualified professional.
The Service does not move, hold, transmit or store money. FinancesHub is not a bank, payment service, payment institution, e-money issuer, money transmitter, escrow agent, lender or debt collector, and it is not licensed or supervised as any of those. When the app shows that one member owes another, or records a "transfer", "payment" or "settlement", it is recording an entry someone made. No funds move. Whether a debt between group members exists, what it is worth, and whether it is ever paid are matters between those people alone. We are not a party to it, we do not verify it, we do not guarantee it, and we will not enforce or arbitrate it.
The Service is a record-keeping and calculation tool for personal and small-group use. It is not accounting software, it is not a book of account for tax purposes, and its outputs — including exported reports — are not certified, audited or guaranteed to satisfy any legal, tax or regulatory requirement. You remain solely responsible for meeting any obligation of that kind.
4. Your account
- You must give accurate account information and keep it current.
- You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, and for keeping your credentials and any device passcode, PIN or biometric lock secure.
- Tell us promptly at support@financeshub.app if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
- One person, one account. Do not share an account, and do not create an account for someone else without their knowledge.
5. Your content, your groups, and other people's data
"Your Content" means everything you put into the Service: entries, amounts, notes, comments, group and category names, receipt images, profile name and picture, and anything else you upload or type.
Your Content stays yours. We claim no ownership of it. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, back up, process, transmit and display Your Content strictly to operate and support the Service for you and for the group members you have chosen to share it with. This licence exists so the Service can function; it ends when the content is deleted, subject to the retention periods in the Privacy Policy.
5.1 What sharing a group means
When you add content to a group, every member of that group can see it, and depending on the group's settings may be able to edit or delete it. Members you invite can see your display name and profile picture. Removing a member stops their future access; it does not un-see what they have already seen, and it does not remove copies they made, including exported reports and screenshots.
5.2 Data about other people
The Service lets you record information about other people — group members, and also people who are not users at all, such as guests or virtual members you create to represent someone in a split. When you do this, you are the one deciding to record that data, and you confirm that you have the right to do so under the law that applies to you, and that you will handle it lawfully and fairly. Do not enter another person's data where you have no proper basis for it, and do not enter special-category information (health, religion, and similar) about anyone.
5.3 Accuracy
The Service calculates from what it is given. It cannot know whether an amount was typed correctly, whether a receipt was scanned accurately, whether a split reflects what people actually agreed, or whether a payment recorded as made was in fact made. Every figure the Service displays is only as good as the entries behind it, and checking those entries is your responsibility and your group's.
6. Automated and AI-assisted features
Some features process your entries automatically, including receipt scanning, which reads a photographed receipt and proposes line items and amounts, and spending insights, which generates a written summary of patterns in a group's history. These features use third-party artificial-intelligence services, and the content they produce is generated by a machine, not reviewed by a person.
- They can be wrong, incomplete, or confidently wrong. A misread digit on a receipt looks exactly like a correct one.
- Their output is a suggestion. It is never a substitute for reading the receipt or the underlying entries yourself, and you should verify any amount before saving or relying on it.
- They are not advice. See Section 3.
- Availability, quality and cost of these features may change, and we may limit, meter or withdraw them at any time.
Content you submit to these features (for example a receipt image, or the entries a summary is generated from) is processed by our AI provider for the purpose of returning a result. See the Privacy Policy for the processors involved.
7. Free tier, advertising, and Premium
7.1 Free tier and ads
The Service has a free tier supported by advertising, and some capabilities are limited on it. Ads are served by a third-party ad network; where the law requires it, you will be asked for consent, and you can revisit that choice from the app's settings at any time. We do not share your account data or your financial entries with advertisers.
7.2 Premium subscriptions
Premium removes ads and unlocks additional capabilities. Premium is sold as an auto-renewing subscription. The price, the billing period and what is included are shown in the app before you buy, and those in-app details govern.
- Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price, and continues until you cancel.
- Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, or you will be charged for the next one.
- You cancel in your store account settings — App Store on iOS, Google Play on Android — not in FinancesHub. We cannot cancel a subscription for you.
- Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not shorten or refund the period you have already paid for; Premium stays active until that period ends.
- If we change the price, you will be notified through the store and given the chance to accept or cancel before it takes effect.
- Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel it either — cancel in the store as well.
- If a payment fails, or a subscription lapses, Premium capabilities may become unavailable and any limits of the free tier will apply again. Your data is not deleted because of this.
8. Purchases are made through Apple and Google
All purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple or by Google, under their own terms, using the payment method on your store account. We never see or handle your card details.
Refunds are handled by the store, not by us. Request a refund from Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) or from Google Play, and their refund policies apply. We have no ability to issue, reverse or expedite a store refund. This does not affect any right to a refund you may have under mandatory consumer law where you live — see Section 16 — and if you believe you have such a right, contact us and we will deal with it.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service unlawfully, or for money laundering, fraud, or to record or facilitate any illegal transaction.
- Upload content that is unlawful, abusive, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or that infringes anyone's rights — including in group names, entry titles and comments, which other members will see.
- Enter another person's personal data without a proper basis, or use the Service to harass, track or pressure someone.
- Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the app, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it despite this restriction.
- Circumvent, disable or interfere with security features, usage limits, premium entitlements, or the display of advertising.
- Access the Service by automated means, scrape it, or attempt to gain access to accounts, data or systems that are not yours.
- Probe, load-test, disrupt or overload the Service or its infrastructure, or introduce malicious code.
- Resell, sublicense or commercially redistribute the Service or access to it.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use the Service. We reserve every right not expressly granted.
10. Availability, updates, and changes to the Service
We aim to keep the Service running, but it is provided on an "as available" basis. It may be interrupted for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control, and it depends on things we do not operate — your device, your network, app stores, and our infrastructure providers.
- We may add, change, limit or remove features at any time. If a change materially reduces what a paid subscription provides, you may cancel it as described in Section 7.
- The app may download and apply updates automatically, and we may require you to install a minimum supported version in order to continue using the Service. Older versions may stop working.
- We may discontinue the Service. If we do, we will give reasonable notice where we can, so you can export your data.
11. Data, backups, and export
We take reasonable technical measures to keep your data safe — see Section 12 of the Privacy Policy — but no service can guarantee that data is never lost or corrupted.
Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. The app can export your data, and you should do so periodically. We do not guarantee that any particular data can be recovered or restored, and we are not a backup service.
12. Suspension, termination and deletion
- You may stop using the Service at any time, and may delete your account from within the app or at financeshub.app/delete-account.
- Deleting your account removes your personal data as described in the Privacy Policy. Some content you contributed to a shared group may remain visible to that group where removing it would misstate other members' records; where that applies, it is disassociated from you.
- Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Export anything you want to keep first, and cancel any active subscription in the store.
- We may suspend or terminate your access, with notice where practicable, if you materially breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if your use poses a risk to the Service or to other users.
- Sections 3, 5, 13, 14, 15, 16, 21 and 22 survive termination.
13. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free; that defects will be corrected; that any calculation, balance, report, scan or AI-generated output will be accurate, complete or suitable for your purpose; or that the Service will meet your requirements.
Nothing in this section limits any warranty or right that cannot be excluded under the law that applies to you — see Section 16.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for loss of profit, revenue, goodwill, business opportunity, or data, however caused and on any theory of liability.
- We are not liable for any financial loss, dispute, miscalculation, missed payment, unrecovered debt, tax consequence or decision arising from your reliance on figures, balances, reports, receipt scans or AI-generated content in the Service, or from an entry you or a group member made, changed or deleted.
- We are not liable for the acts or omissions of your group members, including what they enter, what they can see, what they do with it, or whether they pay you.
- We are not liable for failures of third-party services we depend on, including app stores, payment processors, infrastructure and AI providers, or for your device, operating system or network.
- Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service and these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) US$50.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Because the Service is offered free of charge on its free tier, and at a modest price on Premium, this allocation of risk is a fundamental basis of the bargain between us; without it, the Service could not be offered on these terms.
15. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by applicable law, and except where you are a consumer and the law where you live does not permit it, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, liability, damage, loss and reasonable expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, Your Content, or personal data about another person that you entered into the Service without a proper basis.
16. Your rights as a consumer
FinancesHub is available worldwide, and consumer-protection law differs from country to country. Where you are a consumer, the mandatory law of the country you live in continues to protect you, and:
- Nothing in these Terms removes, limits or waives any right or remedy you have under that law which cannot lawfully be waived — including statutory rights of withdrawal, refund, conformity and guarantee.
- Where any provision of these Terms conflicts with that mandatory law, the mandatory law prevails for you, and the rest of these Terms continues to apply.
- You may bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live, whatever Section 21 says, and we will bring any claim against you there.
- If you are in the EU, you may use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform. Whatever the route, we would much rather you write to support@financeshub.app first — most problems are a misunderstanding or a bug, and both are quicker to fix directly.
17. Additional terms for the Apple App Store
This section applies if you obtained the app from the Apple App Store, and is required by Apple. In the event of a conflict, this section prevails over the rest of these Terms as regards Apple.
- These Terms are between you and us only, not with Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content.
- Scope of licence. Your licence to use the app is a non-transferable licence to use it on any Apple-branded product that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that the app may be accessed by other accounts associated with you via Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
- Maintenance and support. We are solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for the app. Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support services.
- Warranty. We are solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app to you; to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the app, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty are our sole responsibility.
- Product claims. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the app or your possession and use of it, including product liability claims, any claim that the app fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection, privacy or similar legislation.
- Intellectual property. In the event of any third-party claim that the app or your possession and use of it infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
- Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated by the US Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Third-party terms. You must comply with any applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the app.
- Third-party beneficiary. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance of them Apple has the right (and is deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
- Contact. Questions, complaints and claims relating to the app should be directed to support@financeshub.app.
18. Additional terms for Google Play
This section applies if you obtained the app from Google Play. These Terms are between you and us only, not with Google. Google is not responsible for the app or its content, and is not a party to any dispute between us. Your use of Google Play is governed by the Google Play Terms of Service, and purchases and refunds are handled under Google's payment and refund policies. Where those policies conflict with Section 7 or 8 of these Terms for a purchase made through Google Play, Google's policies govern that purchase.
19. Export control and sanctions
The Service may be subject to export control and sanctions laws. You may not use or export the Service in violation of those laws, and you confirm you are not located in, or ordinarily resident in, a territory subject to comprehensive sanctions, and are not a party with whom dealing is prohibited under applicable sanctions programmes.
20. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms — for example when features change, or when a law or an app store requirement does. The "Last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
If a change is material, we will give reasonable notice by in-app notice or email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the Service and, if you wish, delete your account and cancel any subscription in the store.
21. Governing law and disputes
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or the Service are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the competent courts of Tel Aviv-Jaffa have jurisdiction.
This is subject to Section 16. If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in, and does not prevent you from bringing proceedings in your local courts.
Before starting any formal proceeding, please contact support@financeshub.app and give us a fair chance to resolve the matter.
22. General
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the Service, and replace any earlier understanding on the same subject.
- Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, it is modified to the minimum extent needed to make it enforceable, or severed, and the rest stays in force.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a provision, that is not a waiver of it.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, on notice to you.
- Force majeure. Neither party is liable for failure to perform caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
- No third-party rights, except as stated in Section 17 for Apple.
- Language. These Terms are written in English. Any translation is for convenience only, and the English version governs, except where mandatory local law requires otherwise.
